Pretty Powerful Exhibition Opening Saturday, October 23

Pretty Powerful Exhibition

PRETTY POWERFUL –This extraordinary fashion exhibit has been made possible by the leadership of WHM in partnership with a “powerful” team of Marlene Persky and Moira Moynihan Manoog, Co-Chairs; Tay Ann Jay, Honorary Chair; James Hogan, Advisor; the organizing committee, and content/interpretation/design contributors Efua Dufu, Morgan Johnson, and Jade Nortey. Our sincere thanks to Charlotte A. Haller, author, historian, and guest curator; Madeline Ryan, author and historian; Heather Wilder, exhibit labels; Kurt Weideman and Helen Riegle of HER Design; Tyson Miller, lighting designer; the team at WB Incorporated, fabricators; Lynne Bassett and Susan Ward, textile historians; and Cheryl Richards, photographer extraordinaire.

Using Worcester Historical Museum’s extraordinary garments and loans from the community, we are creating a dramatic exhibit that will mark 100 years since the adoption of the 19th Amendment through fashion and the changing roles of women.
