Paper’s Mates
Poetry by Jamie LaBree – PaperBoundGreetings.com
Oxy you’re a moron
What were you thinking when
You left Number Two Pencil
For a Ballpoint Pen
Perhaps you weren’t is my guess
Hand candy half your age
When are you going to realize
That you’re just another page.
And she’s bound to rip your heart out
After writing all over you
I don’t want to have to say I told you so
When you start bleeding blue.
‘Cause it’s only a matter of time
Before she runs you through the shredder
A cliche waiting to happen
Then it’s off with your header.
‘Cause it’s only a matter of time
Before she runs you through the shredder
A cliche waiting to happen
Then it’s off with your header.
Letter by letter, ode man
End this rhyme before it’s too late
You can’t erase history
But you can at least try and reinstate.
What you once had
Couplets counseling, let the prose
Work their metaphor
She’ll be back to irony your clothes.
In no time
I’d hide the sharpener if I were you
‘Cause the last thing you want
Is a leaded shank like Number Two…
Jamie LaBree
